Eric Trump, son of former U.S. President Donald Trump, has made a bold claim that stablecoins could be instrumental in preserving the global supremacy of the U.S. dollar. His remarks, published by the New York Post, highlight the Trump family's crypto venture and its potential role in reinforcing dollar hegemony.

The comments arrive amid heightened scrutiny over the family's financial ties to digital assets. The WLFI stablecoin project, unveiled in March 2025, has raised concerns among government officials about possible conflicts of interest. These worries intensified after President TRUMP signed the U.S. stablecoin regulatory framework into law in July 2025.

Democratic lawmakers have warned that a sitting president with direct financial stakes in stablecoins poses unprecedented risks to the financial system. Representative Maxine Waters suggested in April that Trump may seek to integrate stablecoins into nearly all aspects of global finance.
